Celebrations and Pricing Guide

Wedding Celebrations

There is nothing 'basic' about a wedding ceremony other than perhaps having a starting place for discussion.  To that end, there is nothing really basic about how I do a wedding ceremony.  During the first interview with the couple and a few suggestions and ideas shared back and forth, we are ready to lay the foundation for the ceremony.  Adding to your day, there are many directions we can go, some inclusions you might like, some exclusions, and then the research begins.  I strive to make each ceremony distinctive and, (not to over use the words)... uniquely yours.

For the purpose of creating a starting point, the base fee for the ceremony and dealing with all of the legal issues including filing with the relevant authority for you is $650, and we can then discuss inclusions and exclusions to tailor the vows to your specific needs.

At this time, I am offering a $100 discount for my first three booked weddings through Easy Weddings website.  As you are here, and not there, I am happy to offer you the same discount until I remove the discount from Easy Weddings.

Please keep in mind, some celebrants give you a fixed price and charge for everything over that.  I would rather give you a base price for a full service wedding and then discuss YOUR specific needs, time, travel, inclusions, exclusions, etc., and adjust accordingly up or down as we all can agree, peace and harmony prevailing.

Wedding Celebrations and Ceremonies come in as many 'flavours' as there are couples getting married.  Whether religious, non-religious, traditional, or cultural in nature, your wedding can be one of the most special days in your life.   The following are just a few examples of ceremonies that can be added and tailored to your story and vows, helping create something unique to your wedding.

SAND CEREMONY

With so many weddings today, it is important to include other family members, children, and even parents.  One delightful and truly colourful way to accomplish this is with a Sand Ceremony.  During the reading of a sand ceremony, the members involved pour coloured sands into a common vessel, blending, mixing, and layering the colours as representations of the family members and their contribution to a greater and more colourful whole.  From the simplest containers provided by the family, to containers gathered from op-shops, to the lovely crystal decanters and vases that may have some historical significance to the family, the sand ceremony props can be gathered from just about anywhere.  The ceremony itself is often included as a part of the vows package, but again, can grow into something crazy elaborate if you would like.

RING CEREMONY

Although a Ring Ceremony may seem common, there are variations that can include guests, family, family pets, and so very much more.  Presentation of the rings in a way that shares a story of the couple can again delight and entertain.   Most ring ceremonies are included as a part of the wedding vows.

WATER CEREMONY

Similar to a Sand Ceremony, though usually only performed with the betrothed, a Unity Water Ceremony is the combining of water provided by each of the betrothed, symbolising the unity of the couple.  Often this will be performed using wines or beers.  The fun part of blending wines is that you can create a label for your 'specialty blend'.

PLANT AND TREE CEREMONIES

Often thought of for other types of ceremonies, you can find the permanence of a Plant or Tree Ceremony adds to the feelings of longevity of the relationship in a wedding ceremony.

JUMPING THE BROOM

Believed to date back to the 1600s, Jumping The Broom ceremonies can add a surprising and joyful flavour to a wedding ceremony whether intimate or with a venue crowded with loved ones.

TIME CAPSULE CEREMONY

How long will a marriage last?  Forever, we strive.  How would it be to open a time capsule on your fiftieth wedding anniversary?  Or for your grand kids to discover some photo or poem you loved and shared at your wedding?  To that end, what would your children, or your children's children's children think about what was going on with their great, great, great's and more?

LIVE PAINTING DURING CEREMONY

Having a live portrait or painting happening during a ceremony, creating a 'living memory' of the moment, can add a LOT to a wedding ceremony... especially if the artist is a family member.... and really good!

SONGS, MUSIC, AND POETRY READINGS

Careful selection of songs and poetry may make a ceremony a few minutes longer, but WOW!... Just as you would include special music throughout the ceremony, when chosen carefully, meaningfully, you would be amazed at the depth a simple poem or song can contribute to your ceremony.  I would enjoy including your family in your vows, or, if you wish, finding poems and such that please and delight.

Again, these are but a few inclusions that can make a ceremony more memorable.  Please take the time to discuss these options and more so we can create the best vows possible... just for you.

For future 'web development' reference, additional pages are being assembled describing some of this ceremonies in greater depth and 'color'.

Again for the 'web development' aspect, pages will be added that include venue lists, music suggestions, and as many poetry readings as I can reasonably add without cluttering up this site.
